Jennifer attended Stephens College and Middle Tennessee State University before transferring to the University of Tennessee where she completed both her undergraduate degree and her Master of Science degree in nutrition. She completed her dietetic internship at Emory University School of Medicine.
She became the first full time clinical dietitian at East Tennessee Children’s hospital in 1983. It was there she began working with Dr. Strobel upon his arrival in 1984. Jennifer has worked with Dr. Strobel in his private practice now for over 26 years.
Jennifer is a registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist with over 31 years experience helping individuals improve their health through lifestyle changes and better eating habits. Although she has a wide range of dietetic skills, her passion is helping individuals overcome the health problems associated with adverse food reactions. While she has over 26 years experience in pediatric gastroenterology, she sees both adults and children with gastrointestinal related health problems.
She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association) and the following Academy practice groups: Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine; Medical Nutrition Practice Group; Nutrition Entrepreneurs; and Pediatric Nutrition.
In 2003, Jennifer completed the 26.2 mile Marine Corp Marathon as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training. She enjoys UT sports, reading, writing, tennis, hiking and snow skiing.
